“Mahi! Do you want to get TCups with the rest of the girls?” Tyra asks, tapping my shoulder.
“Hm? Oh hey Tyra. Sure. Who’s going?” I ask, spinning around to face her.
“Kayley, Ayaan, Kaji, Olive. The normal peeps,” Tyra shrugs.
“Okay. Where are we meeting?” I smile.
“I’ll text them,” Tyra whips out her phone. I nod, but notice something on the wall. A paper that was crinkled from the wind and barely holding on the wall with a small piece of tape.
Moria Cart Tournament
Game Club
After School
Room 15
Hm. Maybe I’ll go. I couple girls walk by me, looking at me like they were scared.
“It’s Mahi. The popular kid who bullies others.” My fist tightens and I stare right at them, but I know if I stop them, they’ll just say that I was bullying them. No. I don’t bully people. Yes, I guess I’m popular. At least that’s what my friends say. I do have a little more friends than others.
“Hey. You okay? I contacted the others. They’ll meet us near the gym. Let’s go,” Tyra comes over to me.
“What’s the Game Club?” I ask.
“Hm? Oh. They’re a bunch of geeky nerds that play games after school.” Tyra scrunches her nose.
“I might join them,” I ignore her name calling.
“WHAT?!” Tyra literally jumps out of her skin.
“What? Never mind. Let’s go,” I uncomfortably shift my feet. Tyra looks at me confused for a second, but shrugs and goes ahead of me. I follow her a few steps behind her.

“Where are you going after school?” Ayaan asks me the next day.
“Uh. I have to go somewhere. See you tomorrow?” I take a quick glance at the Game Club. Ayaan follows my eyes.
“Oh. My. God. T-The Game Club? Don’t even think about this, Mahi. You’re popular. Don’t just throw it all away,” Ayaan screams.
“God, Ayaan. She’s just kidding. Right?” Olive rolls her eyes.
“Uh. No?” I try to explain about how I didn’t care about being popular, but Kaji, Ayaan, Olive, and Tyra are screaming their heads off.
“Gaming sounds fun. I’ll try with you,” Kayley says, silencing the others.
“Great. Us two will go then,” I wave a goodbye to the others.
“Fine! We’ll come and watch.. I guess,” Tyra quickly runs to catch up to me.
“No. If you don’t want to go, then don’t. Go to the mall or something,” I shake my head.
“Uh. Okay then. We’ll be at the mall. See ya. Text me if you can come,” Ayaan nods. We say goodbye, and Kayley and I are off to Room 15.
***********************************************************************************
“Um. Hello? Anyone home?” I knock at Room 15’s door and go in when I realize it’s unlocked. Three heads turn to me.
“A fourth player! Yay! More members for this club that’s dying!” A guy in dark brown hair smiles. His smile falters when he sees my face.
“Oh. It’s Mahi. The popular kid. You ain’t wrecking this old club. Fuck off bitch,” another boy with sandy blond hair and green eyes shows me the finger.
“Well, jeez. Thought you needed another player. Why would we wreck a club that’s already dead anyways?” Kayley scoffs. I elbow Kayley in her ribs.
“Ow!” Kayley rolls her eyes. “Fine. Can we play? More like can Mahi play?”
“Actually. Can I join the club?” I say. The guy with sandy blond hair and green eyes raises his eyebrows.
“Are you really going to join this fucked club?”
“Stop swearing Elliot.” The guy with dark brown hair slaps his arm.
“We know you’re just trying to be cool,” the silent-until-now black haired dude rolls his eyes. I think he’s gay. His name was Kay or something like that. He’s been getting attention because he was a player with the guys or something.
“Please?” I ask.
“Well. Mahi is asking nicely.”
“That is the first”
“I’m in the room, ya know?” I point out.
“How about this. You beat us in a round of Moria Cart and you’re in and you can participate in the tournament,” Kay looks at his friends. They shrug back. “Sure”
I smile. “Moria Cart. Fun.”
***********************************************************************************
“So… You’re Elliot. You’re Kay. Who are you?” I ask the dark brown hair guy.
“Kelvin. So. Do you know the controls?”
“Not on a WEE. I’m not familiar with WEE remotes at all.” I turn the remote over and look at it.
“You can play with rumchucks or just by themselves. Which do you chose?” Kay asks.
“Rumchucks.” I plug the rumchuck to the remote.
“So turn the rum chuck circle to turn and press A to accelerate. B to go backwards. Z to use the special attacks that you get in the mystery boxes.” Elliot points it to me.
“Thanks.” I reply, getting ready for the race.
“I still can’t believe you’re doing this.” Kayley perches on a desk. I ignore her.
“Have you played Moria Cart?” Kay asks.
“Yea. I don’t remember when, though.” I quickly press A when the game tells me to start. All the boys were ahead of me because I started as twelfth place. In this game, new players start after all the other players and the computer players. There’s only twelve racers, by the way. In a few seconds, I was first. I chose the cart that was fast, but was hard to control. With my rumchucks, it is easier to control than by just using the remote, because when you just use the remote, you have to turn the remote like a regular steering wheel, but with the rumchuck, you use the circles to move your way through. It’s only my opinion though, that rumchucks are better. Some are really bad at the rumchucks and good at just using the controls, and some are good at just using the control and are bad a rumchucks.
“You little bi-”
“Profanity Elliot.”
“Sorry. But Mahi is just ahead of me!” Elliot was second place, right behind me.
“And….WIN!” I laugh.
“Goddammit.”
“Elliot.”
“Sorry again.”
“So…. I did it. Can I join the club?” I smile.
“Fine. But your friend can’t come unless she really wants to game with us,” Elliot sighs. I look over to Kayley. She looks grossed out.
“Nope. Mahi, have all the fun you want. By yourself. Sorry.” Kayley walks out of the club. I twirl back around, surprised that they were already switching DVDs.
“Why don’t we try a new game? Have you played Awesome Smash Sis?” A smile spread across Kay’s face.
“Hm. Heard of it, but never played. How do you play?” I ask.
“You chose a character and fight each other. Pretty simple.” Kay shows me the controls, and in no time, we were starting. I didn’t pay attention to the score on the upper right corner, so I was surprised to see my name at the First Place mark. Apparently, I beat all of them and was ahead by a lot.
“You should make your own username now. Since you’re in the club.” Kelvin tells me.
“By the way, we have ranks in our club. Kay’s Queen, Kelvin’s King, and I’m prince. That makes you princess.” Elliot points out.
“Princess.” I murmur. Suddenly, the lightbulb in my head switches on. I start typing my username on the screen.

“What’s the numbers for?” Kelvin asks.
“My birthday’s June 9th, and when I use accounts and I need to be older, I usually chose 1972 for some reason. So June 9th 1972.” I explain.
“Weird.. But okay.” Elliot rolls his eyes.
“It’s almost five. We should go.” Kay glances at the clock.
“Um. Okay. See you guys tomorrow then?” I pick up my bag and start heading towards the door.
“Yep. See you tomorrow, Mahi.” Elliot waves me a goodbye. When I leave, I hear them talking through the door.
“I can’t believe Mahi’s so good!”
“She actually might be a LLGamer.”
“Right? It was her first time playing Awesome Smash Sis today, right?”
“Yea. But we’re not sure yet. It’s one game.”
“We’ll find out tomorrow then. I’ll brings some games that she might not know.”
“That’s such an easy task”
“Haha.”
“Ah. My mom’s coming. See ya!”
“Bye.”
I quickly run when I see the door opening. I run to a small hallway and peek out. It’s Elliot, and he saw me. He smiles when he catches my eyes and runs to catch up to me.
“Sorry. I was eavesdropping.” I embarrassingly rub the back of my neck.
“Nah. It’s fine.” Elliot smiles.
“If you don’t mind me asking, what’s an LLGamer?” I ask.
“Oh. A Last Life Gamer. It means when someone is good at games even when they’ve never played. It’s like they were gamers in their last life.” Elliot laughs.
“Hm. LLGamer. Huh.”
***********************************************************************************
When I come back to the club the next day, all the members were waiting for me.
“What are we playing this time?” I ask.
“I brought a bunch of games. Why don’t you try them?” Kay opens his bag full of games.
“O-okay.” I respond uncertainty. After finishing about thirty games that Kay brought, I had not even loss once. I was always top. I hadn’t even tried any of those games before.
“Yup. She’s a LLGamer.” Elliot laughs.
“Yea. No kidding.” Kelvin snorts. I smile. I glance at the clock and gasps.
“I was supposed to be home half and hour ago. Got to go. Bye.” I hurriedly grab my stuff and race to the door, but Elliot stops me.
“If you want to do some gaming at home, there’s this site for the best LLGamers. I’ll text you the link.”
“Okay. Thanks.” I smile and sprint home.
***********************************************************************************
When I got home and after my mom grounded me, I went on my computer and went through my texts. I found Elliot’s link and saw the site. It was a place where LLGamers could compete to see who was better at games they had not played before. I put in the games that I had played and I was entered into competitions. I could only play computer games, but I won most of them. By the time it was dawn, my eyes were puffy and tired. I groaned. Thank god today’s Saturday. I went to log out when I saw the ranks. I was third best LLGamer?! I smiled. I’m definitely going to game a lot more.
Ranks:
1.BROSKI
2.IMMAGAMER
3.GAMINGPRINCESS6972
